Mock Court On March 3 Tests Fuel Solutions (plus optional tour of world leading research centre)
BCSD-UK and Warwick University have joined forces to stage a Mock Court on March 3 at Warwick University where delegates will be the judge to hear evidence to test the appropriateness of fuels and mobility solutions suitable for low carbon lifestyles. Witnesses from E.ON, Amey, National Grid, Vauxhall, and others. Court in the morning with optional tour of Warwick University’s new state of the art, world class, hybrid electric powertrain technology research facilities. BCSD-UK Contracts With Scottish Enterprise To Deliver Free Workshops
Resources under pressure – how might it impact on you? 25 February – morning - Edinburgh
The move to global markets and the continuing rapid economic growth of the developing economies has highlighted the increasing pressure on the earth’s key resources water, metals, minerals, fossil fuels from demand.   Review of the Future Resource Risks Faced by Business and an Assessment of Future Viability
BCSD-UK has been interested for some time in what it calls “resource respect” – encouraging more understanding about resources we tend to take for granted but which are increasingly coming under global pressures. DEFRA’s report is therefore of particular interest, especially as it is a product of the SCP team with which BCSD-UK has particularly close relations.   BCSD-UK To Explore Localised Manufacturing on 31st March
At a time of growing responses to the low carbon agenda and to issues such as the vagaries of fuel costs, BCSD-UK has, for some time now, looked upon the issue of localised manufacturing as an issue to be further explored. Now Tata Steel Europe is to host a member only exploratory workshop at its London office from which it is hoped a properly scoped project will emerge. Enquiries to to davidm@ebc-info.co.uk
 

2nd Virtual Meeting of the BCSD-UK PSM Outputs Advisory Group
Chaired by BCSD-UK Deputy Chairman, Peter Braithwaite of CH2M Hill, this group consists of representatives from Amey, the Environmental Sustainability KTN at Oxford University, the Institute of Energy & Sustainability at De Montfort University, the Open University and Tata Steel Europe. It exists to explore outputs from BCSD-UK’s People.Space.Movement. event piloted at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry in March 2010.

This, the second virtual meeting of the group, reviewed future plans for PSM and explored issues on financing the route to a low carbon world, and issues of cultural change.
